Mawlamyine, March (29)
The People’s Defense Force of Dawei Township issued a warning on March 28 for people to travel only from 6 am to 6 pm on the Dawei- Htee Khi road in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region.
People are warned to drive with their windows down when traveling, not to drive more than 60 kilometers per hour and to travel between 6 am and 6 pm because junta forces are using civilian vehicles on the Dawei-Htee Khi road.
Besides, the PDF issued a warning not to travel, except for ambulances, from 6 pm to 6 am and also social ambulances are required to notify PDFs of their trips.
“The military council often uses civilian vehicles on this road and we have to make this statement so as not to harm the people,” a spokesman for the Dawei People’s Defense Force said.
He added that it is imperative for the travelers to follow the warning, and Dawei PDF will not take responsibility for the consequences of non-compliance.
There are frequent clashes between military forces and a combined force of KNLA and PDF on the Dawei-Htee Khi road in Tanintharyi Region, with the military council suffering heavy casualties.
