The technology and loans needed to generate electricity from the by-products of rice will be provided, the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) announced.
“Because of the rotation of electric supply, rice mills are finding it difficult to operate regularly. For long-term convenience, it needs to be able to generate electricity from paddy waste and connect it to the grid,” the MRF said.
The entrepreneurs those who want to generate electricity from rice husks and those who want to produce edible oil from bran can apply by March 31, the MRF announced on the 17th of March, 2022.
“As stated in the statement, we are preparing vigorously. It will take about a year and a half, so we are starting now. We will provide financial assistance to the companies which are interested in this project,” according to U Ye Min Aung, chairman of the Myanmar Rice Federation.
Frequent power outages occurred in Myanmar in the wake of the military coup. At the moment, electricity is only available on a rotating basis.
Because of frequent power outages, most businesses face various challenges to keep running.
