There have been power outages across Myanmar and the military council plans to supply electricity on a rotating basis until May, a spokesperson for the military council, General Zaw Min Tun said at a news conference in Naypyidaw on March 24.
The Military Council’s spokesman, General Zaw Min Tun said expansion of power lines, gas pipelines, hydropower and solar projects were under way.
As a result, electricity demand will not be met until next May.
He also said efforts were being made to hold elections, reopen cinemas and celebrate Thingyan festivals.
He also confirmed that Zaykabar U Khin Swe and his son U Zay Thiha were arrested for failing to pay their debts to the military.
