In Ye Township, the price of electricity has risen to a record high of Ks 1,200 per unit, the locals said.

In Ye Township, the government could not provide electricity, and so the locals are paying more for electricity provided by private-owned electric power companies.

At present, the power company has increased the price of electricity from Ks 900 to Ks 1,200 per unit due to the skyrocketing price of fuel oil. Charcoal is being used as a substitute for electricity, and there were also difficulties in pumping water, according to a local.

Electricity prices cost up to Ks 1,200 per unit, and it is available on a rotating basis.

At a time when basic food prices are soaring after the military coup, people in Ye Township are also facing high electricity prices.
