Wallay, March 24
The military troops who suffered defeat at the battle of Maw Khee camp in Wallay, Dooplaya district of KNU-controlled area, made an aerial reconnaissance on March 23, the local People’s Defense Forces said.
The military council’s aircraft was used for reconnaissance around Maw Khee yesterday afternoon and artillery shells were fired from Wally-Kanelei of the military council last night.
The coalition forces led by the KNLA attacked the council’s military base in Maw Khee village on the evening of March 21, injuring several members of the military troops and seizing large quantities of weapons.
This is the first time this year that a military council’s camp has been seized in Brigade 6 territory.
The ilitary clashes are taking place in many areas, including Lay Kay Kaw and Kawkareik after the KNU’s Brigade 6 sent a letter to the Military Council informing them to withdraw the troops from the KNU’s Brigade 6 area in Dooplaya District.
Fighting intensified due to the military council’s operations in Brigade 6 area and the KNU said more than 12,000 refugees from Kawkareik have been displaced by artillery fire from the military council.
