The Local People’s Defense Force (PDF) has warned the people not to engage in drug trafficking or gambling in the villages of Tanintharyi Township.
The statement said that the Pyu Saw Htee groups and the administration under the military council have taken bribes and become more involved in gambling and drug trafficking in Tanintharyi Township after the military coup.
As a result, young people in Tanintharyi are becoming more and more destructive, and gambling has led to an increase in robberies, according to a local PDF.
Effective actions will be taken if drug traffickers as well as gamblers do not heed the warning, the statement said.
The People’s Defense Force in Tanintharyi Township has been in frequent clashes with the military council and the military’s informants were also assassinated.
